A Good Battery is the Key to your Power Trip
It takes a strong battery to run your car's essential and accessory systems, such as the on-board computer, power steering, headlights and dash lights, A/C, and more.
Staying Alive
- Most batteries are rated to last five years or more.
- Don't wait until your battery is dead! Slow starts, dim headlights, and sluggish electrical accessories are signs that it’s time to replace your battery.
- Have your battery and charging system checked periodically by the pros at Mr. Tire, Tread Quarters, and Autotire with a modern analyzer.
- When your battery no longer holds an adequate charge, we can provide you with a battery with the capacity to run all of your vehicle’s electrical systems.
Selecting a Replacement Battery
Your vehicle owner’s manual lists battery specifications. We'll make sure to match the battery ratings label your car requires to give you the power you need:
- Group size – battery dimensions and placement of terminals.
- Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) – ability of the battery to crank the engine at 0 degrees. (Cold temperatures slow electrochemical activity and thicken engine oil.) Make sure your battery meets or exceeds the CCA for your vehicle.
- Reserve capacity (RC) – the number of minutes your car will run on battery power alone. If you live in a warmer climate, you might want to give more weight to this rating.
- Freshness – don’t buy a battery older than six months.
